How do you explore Scenic World?

Scenic World is a great way to explore the Jamison Valley, the Three Sisters and much more. Overlook the beautiful Blue Mountains from above by enjoying Scenic World.

Scenic World is a fun attraction in the Blue Mountains, ideal for the whole family. There are three rides available to take. All you need is a ticket and you can enter! A great way to start the trip is to go down to Jamison Valley by the Scenic Railway or the Scenic Cableway. We recommend exploring the valley on the Scenic Walkway before heading back up on the railway or cableway again.

Scenic Railway

Scenic Railway is the steepest railway in the world with a 52 degree angle. The Scenic Railway is one of the best ways to get down into Jamison Valley. When you’re there, you can adjust your seat to a 52 degree angle or a 64 degree angle. Did you know the Scenic Railway was once used to serve the Katoomba coal mine?

Scenic Cableway

The Scenic Cableway is another way to get down into Jamison Valley. The cableway is 545 metres long and it can hold 84 people. A bonus with this ride is you get to view the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, and Mt Solitary. The cableway is also the steepest cable car in the Southern Hemisphere.

Scenic Walkway

After you’ve made your way down either from the Scenic Railway or the Scenic Cableway, you need to do the Scenic Walkway! Explore the Jamison Valley during a 20 minute walk along the boardwalk. You can stroll from the Railway or Cableway stations and reach the other. As you walk through the Jamison Valley’s rainforest, you’ll notice all kinds of flora and fauna. Some of the flora and fauna in the rainforest date back to the Jurassic era! There is plenty of wildlife in Jamison Valley, especially all kinds of birds. On the walkway, you can see the old Katoomba coal mine entrance.

Scenic Skyway

Scenic Skyway is a great way to view the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley, Katoomba Falls, and Mt Solitary. You’ll be 270 metres above Jamison Valley and taking in the breathtaking views. The Scenic Skyway has a glass floor, so it’s perfect to look down and take in the stunning views of the valley. But if you prefer, there are seats and solid floors available. Jump on board and go on Australia’s first cable car!

You’ll only need about an hour to explore Scenic World. This allows you to use all the rides and to do the walk. But if you want to take your time and explore, you’re more than welcome to!
