Experience gliding between the cliff tops of the Blue Mountains.
The Blue Mountains is a remarkable national park in New South Wales, just an hour’s drive from Sydney. Within the Blue Mountains, you can enjoy epic scenic rides at Scenic World, including the Scenic Skyway.
About the Scenic Skyway
The Scenic Skyway was Australia’s first cable car, opening in 1958. The current cable car, which opened in 2017, is Swiss-made, making it the largest aerial cable car in the Southern Hemisphere. It can carry about 84 passengers with each ride.
The Scenic Skyway glides across the cliffs of the Blue Mountains, offering breathtaking views. The journey is 720 metres long and takes about 5 minutes, with passengers suspended 270 metres above the rainforest.
Why it is worth the ride
What makes the Scenic Skyway worth the ride are the stunning views of the rainforest canopy beneath you. Look through the cabin’s glass floor and walls and see iconic attractions like the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley, Katoomba Falls, and Mount Solitary.
