Best Waterfalls in the Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are home to a vast array of different wildlife, native flora, fauna and waterfalls!

The Blue Mountains are well known for their hazy blue eucalypt mist, which creates some insanely pretty viewpoints. But did you know they’re also home to some beautiful waterfalls?

Wentworth Falls: Best Hiking Trail

Wentworth Falls

Wentworth Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Blue Mountains.

This beautiful waterfall is set with a three-tier rock formation underneath it. It’s 187 metres tall, and the Jamison Creek feeds into it. If you fancy a hike to see the waterfall, then travel along the Wentworth Falls track! The walk stops at Fletcher’s Lookout too, where you’ll be able to view over the Jamison Valley and soak in some impressive panoramics of the Blue Mountains.

Leura Cascades: A Pretty Waterfall

Leura Cascades is a pretty walking track that meanders through rainforest as well as lookout points. The trail follows along Leura Falls to the rainforest. There are lookouts which show you the whole Jamison Valley and Majestic Lookout.

There’s a pretty picnic rest stop area at the end of the Leura Falls Creek, where you’ll be able to make a rest stop in the picnic area. The trail is 1 kilometre return, which takes an hour to complete. Make sure to allow yourself lots of time to do the trail, because there are lots of viewpoints along the way where you might want to stop and take lots of photos! At the end of your circuit, why not make a rest stop at the Leura Cascades picnic area? Take a picnic and explore the beautiful expanse of green oasis, offering many shady areas and picnic facilities.

Katoomba Falls:  Scenic

The Katoomba Falls links in nicely to your view of the Three Sisters at Echo Point. Visiting Echo Point will allow you the best views of the Three Sisters, as well as all the other Blue Mountains lookout points!

The best way to explore the Blue Mountains is by bushwalking. If you’re keen on exploring the waterfalls of the Blue Mountains, check out the  Blue Mountains walking tour, where you can explore its popular trails, like Wentworth Falls.
