Scenic Lookouts in the Blue Mountains: Where to Find the Best Views

The Blue Mountains is known for its incredible scenery, so where can you find the best views?

The Blue Mountains National Park is located in New South Wales, just west of Sydney. The national park spans over 2,500 square kilometres of land and boasts incredible scenery.

When visiting the Blue Mountains, you won’t want to miss these epic lookout spots!

Echo Point

One of the most popular lookout spots in the Blue Mountains is Echo Point, and it’s famous for a good reason. This is one of the best places to catch incredible views of the iconic Three Sisters rock formation. It also offers panoramic views of the expansive Jamison Valley down below!

From Echo Point, you can easily embark on one of the nearby walking paths. The Prince Henry Cliff Walk will lead you along the cliff edge and take you to heaps of spectacular lookout spots. You can also follow the trail to Katoomba Falls on a walking loop that returns to Echo Point.

Evans Lookout

Evans Lookout offers even more incredible scenery, including views of the lush forest and the cliffs of Grose River Valley. Viewing the jaw dropping sandstone cliffs of the mountains is even better in person!

This is a perfect lookout spot to check out on your journey through the iconic Blue Mountains. From here you can follow the Grand Canyon Track to get a better glimpse of the canyon and towering cliffs.

Govetts Leap

Another stunning lookout spot in the Blue Mountains is Govetts Leap. This spot overlooks the cascading Bridal Veil Falls and the stunning Grose Valley. The lookout is another popular stop amongst visitors to the blue mountains!

From here, you can enjoy a walk to Horseshoe falls, follow the Bridal Veil Falls Walk and more.

Scenic World

Scenic World isn’t the type of lookout you may be imagining. You’re not overlooking the Blue Mountains from a designated clifftop. Rather, you can enjoy panoramic views from the Scenic Skyway that makes its way above the Jamison Valley from one clifftop to another!

This is truly one of the best ways to view the incredible Blue Mountains.

Join a Blue Mountains day tour

If you’re ready to see the Blue Mountains in all its glory, why not join a Blue Mountains day tour? This unforgettable one day tour will show you around the Blue Mountains, taking you to some of the incredible lookouts mentioned above.

The day begins as you depart from Sydney and visit the Sydney Zoo. Here, you’ll get to view heaps of adorable Australian critters up close. Then you will have the chance to learn more about the local Aboriginal community on a guided First Nations talk.

We will then carry on, into the stunning Blue Mountains. We will stop at Echo Point before heading to Scenic World. You’ll have plenty of time at Scenic World to see the Blue Mountains from a range of viewpoints. Take the Scenic Skyway to glide across the clifftops of the Jamison Valley. Jump aboard the Scenic Railway to explore the forest floor. Or take the Scenic Cableway to travel back up to the top of the cliffs.

After a full day of sightseeing and exploring, this unforgettable Blue Mountains day trip will come to an end!
