With a range of walks suitable for all fitness levels, the Blue Mountains is one of the best places to experience a delightful walk.

The Blue Mountains is renowned for its dramatic scenery, and there’s no better way to see it than by bushwalking. With waterfalls, forests, and steep cliffs to admire, these tracks are a must do to fully appreciate this rugged region of New South Wales.

  1. Prince Henry Cliff walk  

    One of the Blue Mountains’ most popular walks, the Prince Henry Cliff Walk offers breathtaking views and famous lookouts. The walk takes around three to four hours and features over 20 lookout points overlooking Jamison Valley and several waterfalls. This walk is beautiful year round, with different seasons showcasing various blooming flowers.

  2. Federal Pass

    Federal Pass provides plenty of scenic views as you make your way through Jamison Valley. The track takes you through forests and along cliffs from Leura to the Ruined Castle, passing many waterfalls and the iconic Three Sisters. The Federal Pass is 13 kilometres one way and takes over six hours to complete. If you’re short on time, you can enjoy a shorter walk before turning around and returning.

  3. Charles Darwin walk

    Experience a unique walk following the path taken by the famous naturalist Charles Darwin in 1836. This 5.6-kilometre track typically takes about two and a half hours to complete. Enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk and bush track to explore the forest, view various plants, and visit Jamison Creek’s rock pools.

  4. Grand Canyon track

    The Grand Canyon Track has been a favourite among avid hikers since 1907. This historic 6.3-kilometre loop track offers a challenging yet beautiful walk, showcasing native plants and waterfalls. While the track includes some semi-ledges, no special equipment is needed beyond good walking shoes.

  5. Katoomba Falls Night Lit walk

    For a short night time adventure, the Katoomba Falls Night Lit Walk is a great way to view stunning waterfalls after dark. Along the walk, you’ll encounter Orphan Rock, Witches Leap, Katoomba Falls, and Katoomba Cascades. The lights on the walk turn on at dusk, but be aware that the floodlights turn off at 10:30 PM and the path lights turn off at 11 PM.
